Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) ranks #19 among the 2023 Best Value Colleges and Universities in the nation, according to online source, College Consensus.

College Consensus, which combines the latest results from the most respected college ranking systems with thousands of real student review scores, states that the ranking of Best Value Colleges and Universities features schools with above-average Consensus scores and the lowest full-time, out-of-state tuition rates.

TAMIU ranks in several other College Consensus categories. Each category includes rankings of 100 universities nationwide, with the exception of the grouping for Best Colleges and Universities in the South: rankings for schools in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky,  Louisiana, Mississippi., North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia.

TAMIU president Dr. Pablo Arenaz said that rankings like those by College Consensus are a testament to the University's commitment to students.

"These rankings, which recognize us at prominent positions nationally, serve to affirm our continuing and lasting dedication to providing affordable, accessible and exceptional higher education to all," Dr. Arenaz said.

Other rankings include the following:

Ranking #24 -- 2023 Best Colleges and Universities in the South.

According to College Consensus, the Best Colleges and Universities in the South applies to the College Consensus method to a ranking of colleges that provide top-tier higher education in the South.

Ranking #35 -- 2023 Best Public Colleges and Universities.

The Public Colleges and Universities category is limited to publicly-funded, state-owned schools.

College Consensus notes, "Public colleges and universities are a vital part of higher education in America. Public schools generally provide a more affordable and accessible option for students than private colleges, helping to democratize higher education and build a more broadly educated citizenship."

Ranking #43 -- 2023 Best Online Graduate Schools.

According to College Consensus, the Online Graduate Schools category is limited to schools offering at least three fully-online master's degree programs. TAMIU has fully online master's degree programs. TAMIU offers 12 fully online master's degree programs.

The site states, "Online higher education has transformed professional education, and nowhere is that more obvious than in graduate education. Over the last two decades, bachelor's degrees have become standard for entry-level jobs in nearly every occupation, and as more workers went into the job market with a bachelor's degree, a master's degree became more valuable as a way to specialize and stand out from the competition."

As a result of actions taken by the Texas Legislature to address affordability in higher education, all resident undergraduate academic costs, including tuition, mandatory academic fees, all academic-related general fees, and college course fees, have been frozen for the 2023-24 and 2024-25 academic years at TAMIU.
