This year’s Annual Report, dubbed “Our Journey Continues,” focuses on how the University continues to transform the lives of its students through its commitment to growing its academic programs, strengthening its workforce partnerships and positioning TAMIU as a driving force for innovation.

University president Dr. Christopher Maynard reflected on these sentiments in his inaugural Annual Report message.

“Our mission at TAMIU is straightforward yet powerful: to transform lives through higher education. Whether you are a first-generation college student, a transfer student, an international student, or a working professional, TAMIU welcomes you,” said Maynard.

He continued, “Together with our community and industry partners, TAMIU supports thousands of local jobs and creates bright paths for our students to succeed academically, professionally, and personally. In this way, TAMIU is not just a place of learning, but an engine of opportunity for South Texas.”

Among the Report highlights are:

The launch of its first-ever graduate program in Engineering, the establishment of dedicated pathways to streamline transfer between the University and Laredo College, cross-collaborative efforts by University students assisting at national days of community service, the first Ph.D. graduate of the University’s Criminal Justice program, and more.

Also included are profiles on University faculty researchers, and news on the expansion of TAMIU’s faculty. A showcase of student accomplishments and initiatives, alumni updates and successes, reports on donor-driven support, and more.

An insightful infographic profiling students completes the publication produced by the University’s Office of Public Relations, Marketing, and Information Services.
