TAMIU Signs MOU with Mid Rio Grande Border Area Health Education Center to Offer MCAT Prep

Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) and the Mid Rio Grande Border Area Health Education Center (MRGBAHEC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Wednesday, which will enable the implementation of an intensive admissions test review program for healthcare professionals.
Through the agreement, TAMIU and the MRGBAHEC established a collaboration to develop MCAT Prep, an intensive, semester-long admissions test review program designed to prepare TAMIU students for success on the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT).
TAMIU President Dr. Christopher Maynard and Dr. Julie Bazán, MRGBAHEC executive director, signed the MOU.
The partnership underscores TAMIU's enduring commitment to expanding and strengthening the pipeline of health service professionals across South Texas, Dr. Maynard said.
"Through MRGBAHEC's continued partnership and support, TAMIU is able to offer MCAT Prep, a rigorous, semester-long course designed to comprehensively prepare our students for success on the MCAT test," he said, "The program provides focused instruction across all major MCAT content areas."
He added, "This collaboration exemplifies our shared dedication to advancing high-quality STEM education and broadening access to professional healthcare careers for students throughout South Texas."
