TAMIU Fall 2026 Welcome Week Kicks off a New Semester

Students at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) will begin the Fall 2026 semester with a full schedule of events welcoming them back to campus.
Welcome Week, a yearly tradition at TAMIU, is a series of scheduled activities organized by the Office of Student Orientation, Leadership, and Engagement, Campus Activities Board (CAB), the Student Government Association (SGA), and other University offices.
Events are scheduled to begin the first day of the Fall semester, Monday, Aug. 24 and continue through Saturday, Aug. 29.
All events are free and open to currently enrolled University students.
Welcome Week scheduled events are as follows:
Monday, Aug. 24 – Donut Get Lost in the DustyVerse, 8 – 10 a.m., Breezeway; Stellar Starts: School Supply Drive, 8 – 10 a.m., Breezeway; SGA Maroon Monday, 10 – 11 a.m., Breezeway; Intramurals Marketing Booth, 10:30 a.m. – 2 p.m., Breezeway; Find Your Orbit: Student Organization Fair, 12 – 2 p.m., Breezeway; and Paint the Cosmos, 5 – 6:30 p.m., STC Patio.
Tuesday, Aug. 25 – Taco Tuesday, 9 – 10 a.m., Breezeway; Transfer Together: Brew and Belong, 10:30 – 11:30 a.m., Starbucks; 3-Point Contest, 3 – 5 p.m., Rec Sports Courts; Becoming a Trailblazer: Set Your Intention, 3:30 – 5 p.m., Western Hemispheric Trade Center (WHT); Tennis Drills and Fun, 5 – 8 p.m., City of Laredo Tennis Complex at TAMIU; and Loteria Across the DustyVerse, 7 – 9 p.m., WHT 111.
Wednesday, Aug. 26 – Study Abroad Pathway, 10 – 11 a.m., STC Walkway; Food Truck Festival: Fuel Your Journey, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., STC Rotunda; A Very Cosmic Sticker Pop Up, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m., STC Patio; Consent Cab, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Breezeway; and Exports x Athletics, 5 – 8 p.m., STC Ballroom.
Thursday, Aug. 27 – Student Employment Fair, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., WHT 111; Transferpalooza, 3 – 5 p.m., STC Patio; and 6v6 Indoor Volleyball Tournament, 6 – 10 p.m., Rec Sports Courts.
Friday, Aug. 28 – Greek Showcase, 3 – 5 p.m., Kinesiology-Convocation Building; and CABchella, 7 – 11 p.m., Senator Judith Zaffirini Student Success Center (ZSC) Green.
Saturday, Aug. 29 – Student Organization Leadership Advancement Retreat (S.O.L.A.R.), 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Academic Innovation Center (AIC) Lobby.
The week’s events culminate with CABchella, an evening-long concert complete with a fireworks show. CABchella is open to the entire University community, including faculty and staff members.
This year’s CABchella lineup includes performances by Carmilla, Ricky Ram Band and The Noise. Free food will be offered to students by 550 Pizzeria and Gorilla Smoke and Grill. Food trucks will be selling food to members of the University community.
The evening ends with a fireworks show at approximately 11 p.m.
In addition to this semester’s Welcome Week activities, a planned Involvement Week celebrating the ways Dustdevils can get involved on campus and in their community, is set for Monday, Aug. 31 – Sept. 3.
