TAMIU Undergrad Students Sought for Paid Research Positions this Fall

Undergraduate students interested in gaining hands-on research experience will once again have the opportunity to do so through an experiential learning initiative at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU).
The TAMIU Student Research Assistant (SRA) program offers undergraduate students the opportunity to work alongside TAMIU faculty on active research projects across a variety of academic disciplines. As Student Research Assistants, participants contribute to faculty-led scholarship while gaining practical research experience, strengthening critical thinking and analytical skills, and building a foundation for future graduate study and professional careers.
Students can apply now via Workday. Internal applicants can apply at https://go.tamiu.edu/sra-int. External applicants can apply at https://go.tamiu.edu/sra-external.
SRAs are paid to work up to 15 hours a week and may work up to 15 weeks. Positions are limited and fulfilled on a competitive basis. Applicants must be enrolled in at least six credit hours and have a minimum overall GPA of 2.0. The opportunity is open to University students of all majors.
As part of the application process, students must obtain a letter of recommendation from a faculty member that outlines their research project and duties as a student research assistant.
Applications will close Wednesday, August 26 or before if positions are filled.
The innovative opportunity is made possible through LEARN, or Learning Experientially: Active Real-World Navigation, the University’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), which focuses on enhancing experiential learning opportunities to foster career readiness in undergraduate students. LEARN is part of the University’s accreditation process and serves as a campus-wide initiative aimed at supporting student success.
