The third and fourth cohort of City of Laredo elected officials and Webb County administrators and leaders will begin their journey to becoming graduates of Texas A&M International University’s Certified Public Manager (CPM) certification program with Orientation sessions scheduled Thursday and Friday, Aug. 3 and 4.  The cohort’s courses begin Friday, Aug. 18.

The CPM program, a nationally-accredited program offered by TAMIU's Master of Public Administration Program through its Office of Continuing Education, is the culmination of years of collaboration between Texas State University (TSU), TAMIU,  the City of Laredo, and the County of Webb.

The program's seven tracks cover personnel administration, communication, productivity, and program evaluation, managing for quality, budgeting and finance, information technology, and a capstone practicum. Program delivery is primarily based on case study analysis and reflections on best practices.

The most recent TAMIU CPM cohort certified included 15 City of Laredo employees who were recognized in State-wide graduation ceremonies this June at the Texas State Capitol in Austin. The Laredo cohort was part of the largest graduating class in the history of the CPM Program with 125 graduates representing six Universities across Texas.

Joining TAMIU in the CPM program offering are Stephen F. Austin University, TSU, Texas Tech, the University of Houston, and the University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley.
