OnlineMastersDegrees.org analyzed more than 7,700 accredited colleges and universities using data from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System and the institutions themselves.

Programs were ranked with the following primary data points in mind: Graduate student tuition, number of online programs, number of graduate students in online courses, student-to-faculty ratio, graduate student acceptance rate, academic counseling services, and career placement services.

To be eligible, a college or university must hold active regional accreditation and have at least one partially online master’s program in the ranking subject. Just 9% of U.S. postsecondary institutions earned a ranking position.

Kyle Darland, co-founder of Online Mater's Degrees, states, "With more students questioning whether a master’s degree is worth the investment, it is important to highlight the schools offering the best value. For the OMD rankings, this started with regionally accredited institutions with the lowest net costs. This includes tuition and fees but also looks at the amount of institutional aid their grad students receive. Overall cost is a major factor in most enrollment decisions."

TAMIU President Dr. Pablo Arenaz said TAMIU's prominent placements in these rankings are merited.

"These rankings affirm TAMIU's commitment to providing quality programs that are accessible, affordable and exceptional," Dr. Arenaz said, "They testify to the diligence of the faculty and staff who support these various programs as they work to prepare our students to become effective leaders in their chosen fields of study and careers."

TAMIU has over 1,500 graduate students, with 75% of them enrolled full-time. Its online master's programs offer students  the flexibility they need to balance work, family and other responsibilities. A flexible entry system provides students various entry points throughout the year.

TAMIU graduate degrees are awarded by the College of Arts and Sciences, A. R. Sanchez, Jr. School of Business, College of Education, and the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.

The top five graduate majors are Business Administration, Curriculum and Instruction, Criminal Justice, School Counseling, and Family Nurse Practitioner.

TAMIU is also one of the nation’s top degree producers for Hispanic-Serving Institutions and the highest-ranked regional university in The Texas A&M University System among Regional Universities West by U.S. News and World Report.
