TAMIU Awarded 2024 Client for Life by Schneider Electric
Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) has been awarded the prestigious 2024 Clients for Life Award by Schneider Electric, recognizing nearly a decade of impactful collaboration and innovation in campus energy efficiency and sustainability.
Since 2016, TAMIU and Schneider Electric have partnered on a series of strategic infrastructure upgrades designed to address operational challenges and reduce environmental impact.
Through eight major projects totaling over $33 million, the partnership has delivered a 33% reduction in utility consumption, significantly lowering the University’s carbon footprint and operational costs.
The comprehensive scope of work has included:
- Advanced lighting retrofits
- Upgraded HVAC controls
- Chiller replacements
- Water conservation initiatives
A cornerstone of the collaboration was the implementation of a 10-year Operations, Maintenance, Repair & Replacement (OMR&R) contract, which has not only ensured long-term system performance but also led to substantial cost savings and a marked reduction in service requests. TAMIU and Schneider Electric continue to research all forms of utility conservation through the University’s Stable, Reliable, and Resilient energy master plan.

The Clients for Life Award celebrates organizations that exemplify long-term collaboration, innovation, and mutual success. TAMIU’s relationship with Schneider Electric stands as a model of true partnership, built on trust, shared goals, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
The Award was shared with TAMIU employees at the Annual TAMIU Enrichment Day (T.E.D.) held Thursday, May 22 at the Student Center Ballroom.
