New TAMIU Summer Bootcamp July 7 - 11 Focuses on Cross-Border Trade Flows

Summer Bootcamps offer specialized, intensive training programs that rapidly increase or advance abilities, knowledge or both.
This Summer, a new Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) Bootcamp is dedicated to equipping students and industry professionals with the skills to analyze and optimize cross-border trade flows.
TAMIU’s Logistechs Living Lab Summer Bootcamp, “Cross-Border Trade Flow Analysis: Data-Driven Insights for Supply Chain Resilience,” will be presented Monday, July 7 through Friday, July 11. It is hosted by TAMIU’s Texas Center for Border Economic and Enterprise Development (TCBEED) and funded by a TAMIU Innovation Grant through the Office of the President.
The Bootcamp is led by Dr. Daniel Covarrubias, TCBEED director and Dr. Geoffrey Hubona, TAMIU associate professor, division of International Business and Technology Studies, A. R. Sanchez, Jr. School of Business.
Dr. Covarubbias said the Bootcamp bridges academia and industry.
“Our mission is to bridge the gap between academic research and industry needs, preparing the next generation of supply chain leaders for a rapidly changing, technology-driven world,” Covarrubias said.
Those encouraged to attend are TAMIU students in business, computer sciences, and international trade as well as early-career professionals in logistics, transportation, and trade and industry partners seeking to upskill teams and connect with talent.
Dr. Hubona outlined what participants will learn.
“They will have an opportunity to explore and visualize cross-border trade data; apply data-cleaning, analysis and forecasting methods; build interactive dashboards and predictive models; present actionable insights to industry experts and understand the technologies shaping ‘Logistechs’ – the future of Logistics,” Hubona explained.
Among Bootcamp highlights are hands-on experience, industry connections, portfolio projects, and a Certificate of Completion and future access to Bootcamp resources.
