TAMIU, now celebrating its 55th anniversary, was ranked #4 among the Most Affordable Colleges in Texas, #6 for Best Value Colleges in Texas and #9 among Most Popular Colleges in Texas.

The rankings and TAMIU’s profile are available online.

“We’re honored to see that the commitment shared by our faculty and staff to make our campus and programs accessible, affordable and exceptional has been affirmed by Research.com,” said TAMIU president Dr. Christopher Maynard, “Rankings help parents and students assess their higher education opportunities. We’re confident that when presented with TAMIU’s rankings, they’ll quickly determine that TAMIU is a regional university of choice for South Texas.”

Compiled by a team of data scientists, the report aims to help students in their college selection process, considering key factors like academic excellence, degree programs, affordability and return on investment.

The ranking methodology, encompassing some 6,000 institutions, utilizes the Entropy method derived from Decision Making Theory to determine category weights, enhancing rankings' integrity by minimizing biases. Data is drawn from Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System Peterson’s database, and OpenAlex. Research.com’s data science team is led by Imed Bouchrika, Ph.D., and Pawel Dabrowski, Ph.D.
