TAMIU to Host Second Biannual LEARN Expo Wednesday, Nov. 18

TAMIU will host its second biannual LEARN Expo Wednesday, Nov. 18, from 3:20–4:20 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom, where students will share firsthand knowledge of experiential learning (EL).
The event is free and open to the public. Visitors can vote for their favorite poster, which will be awarded a special prize alongside the top three judge scored posters.
At the event, 109 student groups will present their EL experiences, ranging from undergraduate research projects and internship opportunities to service learning and more.
The LEARN Expo gives TAMIU students a chance to hone their presentation skills while sharing valuable insights into their projects and research, affirmed Cihtlalli G. Perez, QEP-LEARN director, underscoring the event’s value to students.
“The Expo focuses on our students and their experiences, while also giving them a platform to showcase their work, often alongside their peers who are also engaging in hands-on learning at the University,” Perez said, emphasizing the Expo’s student-centered purpose.
The initiative is part of TAMIU’s expansive 10-year QEP, or Quality Enhancement Plan, which focuses on enhancing student learning as part of an institution-wide effort. Known as LEARN (Learning Experientially: Active Real-world Navigation), the QEP focuses on experiential learning.
