Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC)
The Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) is an appropriately constituted administrative body established to oversee the biohazardous or recombinant agents used for research and educational purposes by Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) faculty, employees, graduate, and undergraduate students, regardless of the source of funding. IBC supervises biohazardous or recombinant agent research in accordance with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Guidelines for Research Involving Recombinant or Synthetic Nucleic Acid Molecules (NIH Guidelines).
