Dear TAMIU Staff and Faculty,

As part of our institution's commitment to providing access to all members of our community, this is a reminder about the new Title II ADA Digital Accessibility requirements, a federal requirement that applies to public entities, including public higher education institutions. These requirements ensure that individuals with disabilities have equal access to digital content, services, programs, and resources.

To provide adequate time to address any remaining accessibility issues before the federal compliance date, Dr. Christopher Maynard has established Tuesday, December 15, 2026, as our internal deadline for achieving full compliance with the new Title II ADA Digital Accessibility requirements.

This deadline applies to all digital content and resources used in your work, including, but not limited to:

  • Course materials and instructional content
  • Documents (Word, PDF, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Websites and web pages
  • Multimedia, including videos and audio
  • Digital forms and other online resources

We encourage you to continue reviewing and updating your digital content now to ensure it meets accessibility standards by the December 15 deadline. Making digital content accessible helps ensure that all students, employees, and community members have access to the information and services we provide.
