Thank you to our students, faculty and staff members who attended last week’s Open Forums with candidates for the position of Vice President for Finance and Administration/Chief Financial Officer. We appreciated your presence and support as we continue this process.
- This week, TAMIU will host another series of Open Forums for candidates for the position of Vice President for Institutional Advancement. The Open Forums will take place April 14 - 16 in the Senator Judith Zaffirini Student Success Center, room 101. All members of the University community, including alumni, are invited to attend.
Open Forum Schedule:
- Javier “Jay” Zambrano, 2 – 3 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14
- Cristian A. Murdock, 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15
- Amy Armstrong, 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 16
- Each Open Forum will include a moderated Q&A session; questions must be submitted prior to each forum. To submit a question, visit: go.tamiu.edu/vpia-forum.

- Last week, we also celebrated the newly reimagined space at the TAMIU Skylab. Our thanks to A&M System Student Regent Jaquavous S. Doucette for joining us at this celebratory event, and spending time this week with members of the Student Government Association. Their work helped make this reimagined space possible, and I thank them for their efforts.

- The LEARN Expo, an opportunity to celebrate and showcase experiential learning activities on campus, is scheduled for Wednesday, April 15. - Our IBC Bank & Commerce Bank 2025-2026 Keynote Speaker Series features award-winning, New York Times journalist and global economics correspondent Peter S. Goodman. The lecture is scheduled for Wednesday, April 15 at 6 p.m. in the TAMIU Student Center Ballroom.
The University will celebrate its 30th Annual Western Hemispheric Trade Conference, happening April 15 – 17. The annual conference brings together academic researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to discuss an array of topics affecting the Western Hemisphere in today’s global business world.
