Welcome to Texas A&M International University (TAMIU), a proud Member of The Texas A&M University System. Our campus is one of the State's fastest-growing institutions of higher education and has been a vibrant part of South Texas' dynamic growth and vitality for 55 years.

TAMIU is a nationally ranked and regionally focused university with a rich and proud history of delivering transformative educational opportunities that change the trajectory of our students, their families, and South Texas. The University combines an individualized educational experience with the resources of one of the world’s largest and most prestigious university systems, all located on a vibrant campus at an international crossroad for trade and culture. Our mission at TAMIU is straightforward yet powerful: to transform lives through higher education.

Whether you are a first-generation college student, a transfer student, an international student, or a working professional, TAMIU welcomes you. Our rich University community will provide the support and encouragement needed to ensure student success. This mission as a social catalyst empowers South Texas by connecting regional needs with national and global opportunities. For 55 years, TAMIU has powered the progress and prosperity of South Texas by providing a knowledgeable and skilled workforce to drive economic growth and expand opportunities.

Together with our community and industry partners, the University supports thousands of local jobs and creates bright paths for our students to succeed academically, professionally, and personally. In this way, TAMIU is not just a place of learning, but an engine of opportunity for South Texas and beyond.

Over 9,000 students pursue their dreams of higher education at TAMIU. They are preparing to become entrepreneurs, teachers, and public servants who will lead the economic future of our region.

TAMIU students have something in common... they are ambitious. They want to go beyond and invest in their futures, and that growth mindset will ensure that they are successful now and throughout their lives.

The University must match that ambition, and so we continue to push our TAMIU community to do more, to go beyond. And while we celebrate our 55th anniversary, I cannot wait to see what the coming years will bring for TAMIU.

We remain steadfast in our commitment to growing our academic programs, strengthening workforce partnerships, and positioning TAMIU as a driving force for innovation, talent development, and economic opportunity in South Texas and beyond.

Good Afternoon Dustdevils,

Here’s today’s Trailblazer Weekly Bulletin for Monday, Dec. 8, 2025.

Last week, we announced an important $38 million dollar gift from Yield Giving, the primary philanthropic vehicle for MacKenzie Scott, philanthropist, and author. This marks the second largest gift in TAMIU’s now 55-year history and will support our students’ success. Read more here.

We also enjoyed seeing you at last week’s Late-Night Breakfast, Trailblazer Legacy Night, and Ring Day. We hope you enjoyed these campus traditions as we capped off another successful semester.

For many of you, this week marks one of the most important moments of your life: Commencement.

We’ll honor Fall 2025 candidates for graduation at Fall Commencement Ceremonies Thursday, Dec. 11, 2025, at the Sames Auto Arena.

Two ceremonies will be held, one at 11 a.m. and one at 4 p.m. Ceremonies are open to the public and free of charge and are also livestreamed. Scroll down for livestream links for each ceremony.

The 11 a.m. ceremony will feature undergraduate and graduate candidates for degrees from the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.

The 4 p.m. ceremony includes candidates for undergraduate and graduate degrees from the A. R. Sanchez, Jr. School of Business and the College of Education.

Thursday's ceremonies include the graduation of six candidates for doctoral degrees in either International Business or Criminal Justice. This is the largest number of students to earn Ph.D.’s in the University’s history.

Providing the commencement address for the fall candidates at both ceremonies is José Angel Moreno, former U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Texas and retired longtime agent in charge, attaché, and chief of various programs.

Visit our Commencement website for the most up-to-date information on ceremony times, regalia, photography and more.

Don’t forget, registration for Wintermester and Spring 2026 semester continues online via Uconnect. Learn more at our dedicated Registration Hub.

Our Trailblazer Weekly News Bulletin returns with University news and information on Monday, January 26, 2025. Monitor our social media or NewsHub for updates.
