This session provides an in-depth look at trafficking indicators—physical, behavioral, and situational risk factors that healthcare professionals should be trained to recognize.

  • Implementing Trauma-Informed Care in Healthcare Settings

This session demonstrates and defines trauma- informed care within the healthcare setting, which serves as a gateway to use the PEARR (Privacy, Explain, Ask, Respect, and Respond) framework.

  • Mixed Reality (MR) Session – ER Scenario: Recognizing Trafficking Cases & Using PEARR

An interactive training session where participants engage in a fully interactive simulation of an ER setting to recognize trafficking victims and determine appropriate interventions with the use of PEARR tool.

12 - 1 p.m.

An opportunity for attendees to discuss insights and share practical approaches.

Afternoon Sessions

1 - 2 p.m.
  • Policy Development: Creating Institutional Protocols for Human Trafficking Response

Participants engage in policy development or response protocols for human trafficking in their respective field:

2 - 2:45 p.m.
  • Multi-Agency Panel: Case Resources, Documentation & Law Enforcement Collaboration

This panel will focus on available resources, case management, and effective documentation practices that support law enforcement and legal proceedings in human trafficking cases. Panelists will provide advice on best practices and share insights from their respective agencies.

Panelists: Representatives from social services, law enforcement, state departments, and federal agencies working to combat human trafficking.

3 - 4 p.m.
  • Expert Panel: Clinical Experience & Healthcare Collaboration in Human Trafficking Response

This session will feature a panel of healthcare professionals and agency experts with firsthand experience in identifying, treating, and advocating for victims of human trafficking. Discussions will highlight real-world clinical cases and interdisciplinary approaches to victim care.

Panelists: Healthcare professionals, advocacy groups, and agencies collaborating with healthcare institutions to support victims.
