ENGL 4302

Issues in the Teaching of English.

Three semester hours.

Addresses current issues in the teaching of English, ranging from pedagogical approaches to the teaching of composition to the theoretical underpinnings of English literature, language, literacy, and rhetoric. Attention is paid to national trends and state standards for individuals planning to teach English Language Arts (ELA) in secondary schools. Prerequisite: Three hours of one 3000-level ENGL course with a ā€œCā€ or better or consent of instructor.
