ENGL 4323

Shakespeare in Performance.

Three semester hours.

An exploration of the ways Shakespeare’s plays have been interpreted and reinterpreted both on the stage and in film to reflect societal or cultural assumptions at the time of production. Students will study at least four plays in the context of either stage or film productions of a given play and then perform a scene in the context of current issues. Prerequisite: Three hours of one 3000-level ENGL course with a “C” or better or consent of instructor.
