ENGL 4324
Women in Shakespeare.
Three semester hours.
An examination of Shakespeare’s dramatic and poetic technique in the context of his focus on women’s issues and roles in society. Readings of selected plays and non-dramatic poems will relate Shakespeare’s interpretations of feminine power and potential in his own time to contemporary perspectives. Prerequisite: Three hours of one 3000-level ENGL course with a “C” or better or consent of instructor.
