French and Francophone Cinema
Three semester hours.
This course is a survey of French and Francophone cinema from the earliest productions to the contemporary period. It will analyze the social and historical conditions that gave rise to landmark films. Topics for discussion include the impact of history, politics, literature, class, ethnicity, gender, colonialism, migration on selected films. Prerequisite: FREN 2312 or equivalent.
