Coronavirus (COVID-19) Hours, Services, and Access
To ensure the health and safety of library staff and the TAMIU community the following restrictions are in place, and subject to change, until further notice.
Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
The library is closed to the public. TAMIU Faculty, Staff, and Students may enter with a current TAMIU ID.
Access restricted to the 1st and 2nd floors. The 3rd and 4th floors are closed.
No study rooms will be lent at this time.
Do not move furniture; it has been rearranged to encourage social distancing.
Two computer labs are open and can hold up to 10 people each safely, in accordance with CDC recommendations.
The library has closed stacks. (Book stacks are not open for browsing.)
In order to protect both patrons and library staff, we are discontinuing self-service and browsing of library materials. If you need a physical item from the General Collection, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with the title, author, and call number of each item. If available, the item will be pulled for you, and you will be notified when it is ready for pick up at the Circulation Desk. Items will be held for 3 days from notification of availability. If the items are not picked up, they will be returned to the shelf. There is a 5-item limit, per person, at this time. Please return your items to the outside book drop located at the east end of the building, closest to Bullock Hall.
How to find an item's title, author, and call number:
Interlibrary loan (ILL) requests can still be made at this time; however, we make no guarantee that requests for physical items will be fulfilled. (Library closures at other institutions around the country may prevent the availability of items.) If we are successful in obtaining your request, you will be notified when it is available for pickup. Electronic requests for articles and book chapters can still be made, and fulfilled. If you have additional questions please contact Malynda Dalton by e-mail at email@example.com
