TAMIU PR Office Again Earns Multiple Awards in 36th Annual EAA Competition

Texas A&M International University’s (TAMIU) Office of Public Relations, Marketing and Information Services (PRMIS) has been awarded nine national awards in the 36th Annual Educational Advertising Awards (EAA).  TAMIU was the top award-winner among Texas colleges and universities competing.

The EAA is the nation’s largest, oldest and most respected educational advertising awards competition. 

TAMIU received Gold Awards for website refresh, prospect website and the Dustdevil Diversity and Inclusion website.  Three Silver Awards went to TAMIU’s COVID-19 Response Center website, its 2020 Annual Report, “   ” and its COVID-19 Awareness Campaign, “Get it Together TAMIU.”

A Bronze Award was provided to the COVID-19 Campaign brand transition while special Merit Awards went to a TAMIUFlex explainer website and COVID-19 Response Signage.

This year, over 2,000 EAA entries were received from 1000-plus colleges, universities and secondary schools from all 50 states and several foreign countries. Gold Awards were granted to 313 institutions, Silver Awards were awarded to 170 institutions and Bronze Awards to 104 institutions. 

A national panel of higher education marketers, advertising creative directors, marketing and advertising professionals served as judges. 

Last month, the TAMIU PR office also received nine awards from the 8th Annual Educational Digital Marketing Awards Competition also placing it among top peer national winners. 

TAMIU’s PRMIS director Steve Harmon said all the Awards are a humbling testament to PRMIS’ strong creativity, drive, passion and teamwork.

The creativity, drive and passion of our entire PRMIS staff is inspired by our president Pablo Arenaz’ leadership.  He always challenges us to find new and engaging ways to share the University’s mission and story across multiple platforms.  Our PRMIS team is incredibly bright, dedicated and energetic and helps drive TAMIU initiatives focused on engagement, recruitment, retention, and  community perception.  While there is no denying our  Pandemic-dominated time hasn’t brought formidable challenges, it has also provided us opportunities to extend and grow our abilities,” Harmon said.
