TAMIU Renaissance-Themed Spirit Week Concludes Saturday

Hear ye, hear ye! This week, students at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) have been commemorating Spirit Week with castles, dragons, and Renaissance-themed, school-spirited events.

The festivities conclude Saturday, Feb. 18, with the coronation of the TAMIU Royals at the end of the Men’s Basketball game.  

Campus events have included “Thy Taco Tuesday,” “Kraken’s Karaoke,” “A Swamp Rave,” “A Cart Parade,” and more. A full event schedule is at go.tamiu.edu/spiritweek23.

The week’s festivities also include several offerings by TAMIU Athletics, with games happening:

• TAMIU Softball vs. Midwestern State – Friday, Feb. 17 at 12 & 2 p.m. – Softball Field
• TAMIU Baseball vs. Cameron University – Friday, Feb. 17 at 2 p.m. – Jorge Haynes Baseball Field
• TAMIU Softball vs. Midwestern State – Saturday, Feb. 18 at 11 a.m. – Softball Field
• Women’s Basketball vs. Midwestern State – Saturday, Feb. 18 at 1 p.m. – Kinesiology Convocation Bldg.
• Men’s Basketball vs. Midwestern State – Saturday, Feb. 18 at 3 p.m. – Kinesiology Convocation Bldg.
• TAMIU Baseball vs. Cameron University – Saturday, Feb. 18 at 12 & 3 p.m. – Jorge Haynes Baseball Field

In addition to student-based events, University alums are invited to participate in Thursday’s Alumni Night at 6 and 8 p.m. Hosted by the TAMIU Alumni Association, festivities are scheduled to take place during the Women’s and Men’s Basketball games and include a Baby Crawl and Turkey Leg Toss competition. Alumni registering for the event will receive a replica TAMIU jersey and TAMIU Alumni promo bag and will be entered in several raffles held throughout the night. Free food and drinks will also be provided.
