For the ninth year in a row, “Discover TAMIU,” a family-friendly event celebrating the excitement and discovery made possible at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU), is happening Saturday, April 1, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The University has set up a dedicated website with a comprehensive, downloadable program at http://www.tamiu.edu/discovertamiu/

The free event includes over 150+ activities throughout the 300-acre campus. Attendees are encouraged to bring their friends and family to enjoy a day full of fun and educational activities.

Event highlights include free showings at the Lamar Bruni Vergara Planetarium, the ever-popular Bling Your Piggy craft activity, Fish Under the ‘Scope, rock painting, dino hand drawing, Loteria, DIY bird feeders, slime creation, mini-golf, obstacle courses, puzzles and more.

The University’s Ballet Folkórico, Spirit Cheer and Dance, Mariachi Internacional, Spring Dance Days and more will also perform music and dance sequences.

Discover TAMIU follows five distinct, segmented ‘Pathways’ that attendees can enjoy and explore. Through the Artistic Avenue Pathway, participants can enjoy activities dedicated to art, dance, and music. Individuals can learn more about campus life and Dustdevil traditions through the Spirited Speedway Pathway.

Families can learn more about the humanities, culture, and social sciences through the International U Pathway. The Business Boulevard Pathway focuses on the role of business in the world. The final Pathway, Scientific Journey, encourages participants to learn more about science and STEM.

Beverages and snacks will be available at the University’s Food Court and Dusty’s Diner in the Student Center. Starbucks will also be open, located on the first floor of the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library.
