28th Annual Western Hemispheric Trade Conference Held at TAMIU

The 28th Annual Western Hemispheric Trade Conference continues at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) Thursday - Friday, April 11- 12, bringing together academic researchers, business leaders, and policy makers to discuss critical trade issues affecting the Western Hemisphere and across the globe.

This year's gathering features a total of 20 concurrent academic sessions which are delivered in a combination of in-person and virtual presentations in English and Spanish. One remaining keynote speaker will present on Friday, April 12.

Dr. Roberto A. Coronado, senior vice president in charge and senior economist, Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, San Antonio and El Paso branches, will offer his keynote presentation, "Understanding the Evolving Economic Relationship between the United States and México" Friday, from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. in an online event.

Coronado is a senior economist and member of the regional group of the Bank’s Research Department. In that capacity, he provides regional input into the Dallas Fed’s monetary policy process and is responsible for monitoring and tracking economic and business activity in West, Central, and South Texas as well as southern New Mexico.

His research focuses on issues pertaining to the Mexican economy, U.S.–México economic integration, and border issues. Coronado has written articles for various Federal Reserve publications and academic journals in both the United States and México.
