Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) has announced its participation in the Google A.I. for Education Accelerator, a new initiative providing students, faculty, and staff at TAMIU with no-cost access to its Google Career Certificates.

The collaboration is part of Google's commitment to provide its most advanced A.I. tools and training to every U.S. college student at no cost.

TAMIU Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Claudia San Miguel emphasized how these added initiatives strengthen student skillsets as they move toward their career fields.

“By embracing these educational opportunities, we empower our students to explore their potential, enrich their learning experiences, and shape brighter futures for themselves and the communities they will live in and serve,” said Dr. San Miguel.

“Every student deserves access to the A.I. skills needed to succeed in today’s job market,” said Lisa Gevelber, Founder of Grow with Google, “We are proud to partner with TAMIU to provide students with our most advanced A.I. products and training, ensuring they know how to make the most of the technology in the classroom and beyond. This program builds on years of us working together with universities to help students prepare for exciting careers.”

TAMIU students will now have no-cost access to Google Career Certificates. These Certificates are industry-recognized credentials that equip students with job-ready skills in the in-demand fields of cybersecurity, data analytics, IT support, and more.

An employer consortium of over 150 top companies—including Google—use these certificates for hiring or upskilling. To date, the program has helped over one million people get training for higher paying jobs. Over 70% of certificate graduates report a positive career impact within six months of completion.

University students interested in obtaining these Certificates can contact Yelitza Howard, TAMIU Career Services director via email at yelitza.howard@tamiu.edu or Michelle L. Rodríguez, Career Services coordinator, at michelle.rodriguez@tamiu.edu.
