Fans, family, and members of the Dustdevil Athletics Nation attended a “Kick Off”  for fhe much-anticipated Dustdevils Fall season at the Golondrina Food Truck Park on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025.

TAMIU Dustdevil Athletic Director Griz Zimmermann shared details about the Fall Athletics Kick & Serve event.

“We brought the community together for a high-energy night full of food, fun, and Dustdevil pride. We gathered to celebrate the start of our Men’s Soccer, Women’s Soccer, Volleyball, and Cross-Country seasons at one of Laredo’s favorite hangout spots - Golondrina Food Truck Park,” Zimmermann said.

Event attendees had an opportunity to meet TAMIU’s student-athletes and coaches, hang out with Dusty the Dustdevil, the University’s mascot, and share the excitement of a promising season ahead, he noted.

“Entry was free and we were thrilled to see alumni, longtime and new fans, and the community at large.  We shared our official Fall Sports Schedule with those attending. We thank everyone for their support of our Dustdevils and look forward to their helping us pack the stands for this exciting Fall season ahead,” Zimmermann added.

The event featured live DJ Entertainment, photo opportunities with Dusty and the Spirit Team, a student-athlete meet and greet, delicious local foods, season hype announcements, and giveaways and prizes.
