TAMIU Dustdevils Host Fall Season Kick Off Aug. 30

It’s time for Fall Dustdevil Athletics at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) and the community is invited to “Kick Off” the season with the Dustdevils at the Golondrina Food Truck Park, 12011 Golondrina Drive, Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

TAMIU Dustdevil Athletic Director Griz Zimmermann shared details about the Fall Athletics Kick & Serve event.

“We’re bringing the community together for a high-energy night full of food, fun, and Dustdevil pride. Join us as we celebrate the start of our Men’s Soccer, Women’s Soccer, Volleyball, and Cross-Country seasons at one of Laredo’s favorite hangout spots - Golondrina Food Truck Park,” Zimmermann said. 

Event attendees will have an opportunity to meet TAMIU’s student athletes and coaches, hang out with Dusty the Dustdevil, the University’s mascot, and share the excitement of a promising season ahead, he noted.

“Entry is free and we encourage alumni, longtime and new fans and the community at large to attend and bring family, friends, and neighbors.  We’ll share our official Fall Sports Schedule for those attending.  We thank everyone for their support of our Dustdevils and hope you can help us pack the stands for this exciting Fall season ahead,” Zimmermann added.

The event features live DJ Entertainment, photo opportunities with Dusty and the Spirit Team, a student-athlete meet and greet, delicious local foods, season hype announcements, and giveaways and prizes.
