TAMIU Commencement Ceremonies at Sames Auto Arena Thursday, Dec. 11

Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) will honor its Fall 2025 candidates for graduation at Fall Commencement Ceremonies Thursday, Dec. 11, 202, at the Sames Auto Arena.
Candidates for graduation number 1,297, setting a historic record for the largest Fall graduating class in the University's history. Candidates for graduation include representatives from 22 countries.
Two ceremonies will be held, one at 11 a.m. and one at 4 p.m. Ceremonies are open to the public and free of charge and are also livestreamed. Links are at:

The 11 a.m. ceremony will feature undergraduate and graduate candidates for degrees from the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. The 4 p.m. ceremony includes candidates for undergraduate and graduate degrees from the A. R. Sanchez, Jr. School of Business and the College of Education.
Of historic interest, Thursday's ceremonies will include the graduation of six candidates for doctoral degrees in either International Business or Criminal Justice. This is the largest number of students to earn Ph.D.’s in the University’s history.
Providing the Commencement Address for the Fall candidates at both ceremonies is José Angel Moreno, former U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Texas and retired longtime agent in charge, attaché, and chief of various programs. Moreno is now an international consultant on Justice Sector Reform. He has most recently provided training to intelligence, military, police, political and private sector groups in Chile on transnational organized crime. A TAMIU graduate, he received the University’s Distinguished Alumni Award in 2010.
Student Response for the morning ceremony will be provided by Angelique Morgan, representing the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. The afternoon ceremony Student Response will be offered by Teresa N. Jarrell, representing the A. R. Sanchez, Jr. School of Business.
Morgan is earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology, graduating summa cum laude with a 3.9 GPA. While a student at TAMIU, she was a member of the Women’s Basketball team, the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, and participated in community service on and off campus. She was named to the Lone Star Conference Academic Commissioners List and distinguished herself further by graduating in the top three of the department of Health Sciences and top ten of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.
Jarrell will earn a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing, earning magna cum laude honors with a 3.7 GPA and recognition on the Dean’s List both of her final semesters. She began her studies at TAMIU in 2010 and later returned to fulfill her academic goal while working full-time and serving in leadership at Laredo First Assembly Church. Balancing professional, academic, and community responsibilities, she has led outreach efforts and large-scale events that unite local organizations, serving thousands of Laredo families.
