TAMIU Zombie Run 5K Returns, Outrun the Undead Oct. 10

The Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) Zombie Run 5K is back, and it’s going to be a scream!
The annual Zombie Run is happening Saturday, Oct. 10 at TAMIU. Check-in begins at the University’s Student Center at 6 p.m., and the Zombie Run officially starts at 6:30 p.m., partially circling the campus’s inner loop before cutting through the main campus breezeway.
The race is open to the campus community and the public. To register for the 5K, participants can sign up at go.tamiu.edu/zombierunreg.
Participants will have two options to survive the race. The first is a traditional 5K that gives runners and walkers alike the chance to finish with their best time.
The second option is an interactive zombie run where participants make their way through the course while trying to protect their attached flags from the zombies. Participants who finish the race with their flags have survived the race.
Regular registration is $35 and closes on Sunday, Oct. 4 at 5 p.m. Late registration is $40 and continues through Oct. 10.
Registration gives participants access to both race options, and they can choose one option or challenge themselves to complete both. Officially branded Zombie Run 5K T-shirts will be available while supplies last and may not be guaranteed during late registration.
All participants must submit a participant waiver, which is made available upon registration checkout. Email completed waivers to recsports@tamiu.edu. Onsite participant waiver completion, as well as waiver completion when participants pick up their race gear will also be available.
After the race, participants, spectators, and even the zombies can visit the vendor market, which will also feature local businesses and organizations.
