Our Career Fair is a four-day event filled with exciting and dynamic events and workshops designed to equip students and graduates alike with important skills sets as they pursue employment and or internship opportunities.

As an exhibitor, you will have access to a talented student/graduate population as diverse as the cross-section of majors they represent. Throughout the Career Fair week, there will be plenty of opportunities to network with members of our community, university alumni and our up and coming graduates. Allow us to partner with you in your search for qualified and prepared potential candidates.

Additionally, you may also take advantage of participating as a corporate presenter—giving you the opportunity to promote your company in a classroom setting and reach students/graduates who are specifically interested in employment and or internships within your company.

Career Café Grand Opening

The Office of Career Services is busy updating its existing facilities with a newly designed professional learning environment for the benefit and use of the TAMIU student and alumni communities.  Its new image and expanded service menu builds on a higher level of professionalism and enhanced career development opportunities to include a Career Café with news broadcasts from around the world, a coffee station, and a slew of digital and hardcopy career related resources.  Additionally, the Office of Career Services will also launch a variety of new workshops and recruitment events.  And as an extra amenity, visitors will enjoy the artistic talent of our very own art students whose work will be displayed throughout our new office setting.

 


Thursday & Friday, March 1-2, 2012

Students are encouraged to visit with any of our Career Advisors in preparation for the job fair or to discuss any other career related matter.  Staff will be on hand to assist with resume reviews, interviewing skills and professional attire.  Please drop by the Career Service Office for your individualized consultation.  No appointment necessary; consultations will be offered on a first-come-first-serve basis, from 8:00 a.m to 5:00 pm.

Business Class Case Studies

Times and locations: TBA

This year’s agenda calls on business and hospitality industry experts to partner with the A.R. Sanchez, Jr. School of Business and the College of Arts and Sciences and serve as facilitators of real-world Case Study scenarios with undergrad and graduate students.  Students will have an opportunity to participate with business leaders in a hands-on learning experience to solve a company’s case study.

Local, state and national employers from a variety of industries come together to promote employment and internship opportunities for TAMIU students and the Laredo community. Employers will also host corporate presentations throughout the day. Schedules and room locations to be announced.

Registration for these events is not mandatory, and the events are free of charge to students, alumni and the general community. For Employers:

Regular Registration is $120.00 by the deadline date of February 24, 2012.
Registration fee includes 2 meal tickets for the luncheon on March 6th from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Fee also includes 1 skirted 6 ft. table, 2 chairs, 1 sign with printed organization name (no logos) and wireless access for the job fair on March 6th, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Additional meal tickets are $25.00 each.

Late Registration is $150.00.

Only regular registration fees (including meal tickets) are fully reimbursable if done by the deadline date.

Mock Panel Interview from the College of Arts & Sciences/Criminal Justice Department
Facilitated by: Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and U.S. Marshals Service
