Earth Day 2026 Event Summary

The 2026 Earth Day celebration at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) was successfully hosted as a campus-wide fair-style event, bringing together a diverse mix of internal and external partners. Held at the Student Center Walkway, the event created an engaging and interactive environment for students, faculty, and staff to learn about sustainability and environmental stewardship.

The fair featured a variety of hands-on activities and educational booths, including plant adoption, seed starter distribution, seed ball creation, and interactive demonstrations such as solar energy displays and recycling education pitches. Attendees also explored their environmental impact through carbon footprint activities and participated in sustainability-themed experiences like gummy dirt cups and environmental awareness stations.

A key highlight of the event was the strong collaboration between university departments and community partners, which enhanced both the reach and impact of the program. The event was made possible in large part through the generous support of the primary sponsor, Schneider Electric.

Environmental Advisory Committee

The Environmental Advisory Committee (EAC) oversees environmental compliance, initiatives, and stewardship on campus. Members serve as liaisons to their departments, assist with implementation of compliance initiatives, and voice environmental concerns as well as educate members of the TAMIU community on environmental matters.
