This Fall, TAMIU's Dusty’s Food Pantry Continues Student Assistance Efforts

Dusty's Food Pantry

As the Fall semester begins Monday, Aug. 23 at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU), enrolled students who may be facing food insecurity can seek a temporary supplemental supply of non-perishable goods through Dusty’s Food Pantry.

To receive assistance, currently enrolled students can submit an online form at https://www.tamiu.edu/foodpantry/.

After completing the form, students can schedule an appointment with TAMIU’s Office of Student Conduct and Community Engagement by calling 956.326.2265.

Additionally, students residing at the University Village can access Dusty’s Food Pantry located inside the residential facility.

Students who are unable to use the pantry in person can also request a service pickup at Student Center 226 or curbside pickup in front of the Student Center.

This semester, supplies are available for pickup Monday through Thursday, from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Friday, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Initially launched in 2017, Dusty’s Food Pantry provides daily access to non-perishable goods. Supplies are often donated by members of the University community, including fellow students, faculty, staff and administration.

Individuals in need of community service hours can donate to Dusty’s Food Pantry. Up to 10 hours may be awarded per student, per month. Donated items must be listed on Dusty’s Food Pantry in-demand list to receive community service hours.

This August, in-demand items include cans of mixed vegetables; breakfast, protein, grain or granola bars; Pop Tarts; oatmeal; and toothpaste. To view monthly donation lists, visit them on Trailblazers at https://tamiu.campuslabs.com/engage/organization/scce
