Undergraduate students seeking research experience will once again be able to do so through an experiential learning initiative available at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU).

Promising scholars will be able to apply for positions as Student Research Assistant (SRA). Through their work, SRAs will engage in authentic research experiences by assisting TAMIU faculty with their research projects or tasks.

Students can apply now via Workday.

SRAs are paid to work up to 15 hours a week for 10 weeks. Positions are limited and fulfilled on a competitive basis. Applicants must be enrolled in at least six credit hours and have a minimum overall GPA of 2.0. The opportunity is open to TAMIU students of all majors.

As part of the application process, students must obtain a letter of recommendation from a faculty member that outlines their research project and duties as a student research assistant.

Applications will close Wednesday, Feb. 4, or before if positions are filled.

The innovative opportunity is made possible through LEARN, or Learning Experientially: Active Real-World Navigation, the University’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), which focuses on enhancing experiential learning opportunities to foster career readiness in undergraduate students. LEARN is part of the University’s accreditation process and serves as a campus-wide initiative aimed at supporting student success.
