Emergencies
For severe or potentially life-threatening emergencies occurring on campus, please call the University Police Department at 956.326.2911. If you are off campus and need immediate assistance, please call 911 or go to a local emergency room.
What to do Until Help Arrives:
1) Assist in maintaining a calm environment.
2) Keep area free of spectators.
3) Reassure and stay with the victim.
Mental Health Crisis:
If you are in immediate crisis, call 911 or the Kate Marmion Counseling Center at TAMIU by dialing 956.326.2230 and press 3 to speak with a crisis counselor now.
If someone you know is in crisis and they are a student at TAMIU including displaying odd behavior or engaging in other behaviors that may be harmful, pleas complete the Behavioral Assessment and Intervention (BAIT) Form.
If you are not on campus and need assistance for an emergency including someone who is seriously considering suicide, please call 911.
