Mentor Highlights

Mentor Meetings Begin

After an exciting first couple of weeks of class, students enrolled in UNIV 1201 have begun signing up for their mentor meetings. Marking a new era in their First-Year Experience.

In their first meeting, students learned the importance of managing their time with their academic and personal schedules. Such as viewing their working schedules and when to dedicate time to study.

If you are taking UNIV this semester and have not yet made an appointment with your mentor, please make sure to do so as soon as possible. Remember that it counts towards your grade!

First Year Experience Rally!

Our Student Mentors proudly represented the ACE Mentor Program at the TAMIU First-Year Rally! This event welcomes new Dustdevils to campus and celebrates the beginning of their college journey.

Isela Sanchez Diaz, student mentor, shares her excitement at the rally kickoff, ready to guide and support first-year students through their transition to university life. Mentors join together in the traditional Spirit Stick Ceremony, showcasing teamwork, pride, and dedication to building a strong and supportive TAMIU community.

The Student Mentorship Program continues to be a driving force in helping first-year students connect, engage, and succeed at TAMIU!

Mentors Take Over Campus Events

Our student mentors actively engage with first-year students by attending campus events such as Lotería, Taco Tuesday, and Welcome Week activities. At each event, they provide guidance, answer questions, and offer support, helping students feel welcomed and confident. Through these interactions, mentors foster community, encourage student growth, and demonstrate their commitment to service and success on campus.
