Outreach & Pre-College Programs

Need a laptop or calculator for class? TAMIU offers free device loans to eligible students at no cost and with no hassle. 

Eligible TAMIU students can borrow a Dell laptop and a TI-nspire CX II graphing calculator. 

Eligibility

To qualify, you must: 

• Be a currently enrolled TAMIU student taking at least 3 credit hours 
• Be fully paid for the semester 
• Have no financial aid holds

How to Apply

1. Complete the appropriate Loaner Application Form. 
2. Submit the required questionnaire, contract, and acknowledgment. 
3. Wait for approval. You will receive a link to your TAMIU email within 5-7 business days to schedule your pickup. 

Important Dates

• Fall-only students: Return December 12, 2025  
• Spring students: Return May 15, 2026

Schedule your return appointment at go.tamiu.edu/TechLoanAppt to return your laptop or graphing calculator. Please note: Holds will remain on your account until the device is returned.

Each Dell laptop includes: 

• a 14" display, camera, and microphone 
• Pre-installed software: 
  • Microsoft Windows 10 Enterprise 
  • Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus 
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader DC 
  • Lockdown Browser

Holds and Waivers 

All students will have a hold placed on their record until their Loaner device is returned. If you need a temporary waiver (e.g., to view transcripts or drop a course), email outreach@tamiu.edu with:  

• Your full name 
• Your student ID (A########) 
• Your reason for the request

You'll receive a response within 1-2 business days.
