NURS 5336

Primary Care of Pediatrics and Families Practicum

Three semester hours.

This course emphasizes the integration and application of theory, health promotion, and disease prevention and provides clinical experiences in ambulatory pediatric primary health care settings. Students will perform comprehensive and appropriate clinical assessments, including appropriate developmental screening, diagnostic testing and therapeutic interventions in order to promote health in the pediatric care setting. This course requires 135 hours of practicum. Prerequisites: NURS 5332 and NURS 5333. Corequisite: NURS 5335.
