Rosabel Ramos, MA, LPC-S
Director
Rosabel Ramos, MA, LPC‑S, is a Texas‑based Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and Director of Student Counseling Services. She earned her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Texas–Rio Grande Valley. Rosabel is committed to expanding access to meaningful, high‑quality mental health care while upholding strong clinical and operational standards that support student wellbeing. She is certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), specializing in trauma treatment. Rosabel’s clinical approach is practical, compassionate, and focused on helping individuals process difficult experiences, strengthen resilience, and rebuild a sense of safety. Outside of work, Rosabel enjoys traveling and spending time with her energetic son, who brings balance and inspiration to her life.

Daniel Alvarado, MA, LPC-S, LCDC
Associate Director
Daniel Alvarado, LPC-S, LCDC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor–Supervisor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor in the State of Texas. He earned his master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and has over a decade of experience in the mental health field. Daniel currently serves as Associate Director of Student Counseling Services at a university counseling center, where he provides clinical leadership, supervision, and program development while supporting students with a wide range of mental health concerns. In addition to his administrative role, he maintains an active clinical practice. He is certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and works with individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, mood disorders, and substance-related concerns. His therapeutic approach focuses on helping clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, increase emotional insight, and develop practical coping strategies. As a therapist, Daniel aims to help clients recognize how internal narratives and emotional responses can subtly interfere with personal growth and connection. He works collaboratively to support clients in responding to emotions more intentionally and moving toward a more aligned and meaningful version of themselves.

Michelle Flores, MA, LPC, LCDC
Professional Counselor III
Michelle Flores is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) in the state of Texas. She earned her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) in 2012. Michelle brings a thoughtful and compassionate approach to her work, supporting clients as they navigate life’s challenges and transitions. Her clinical interests include trauma, grief, resiliency, and relationships. Michelle is committed to creating a supportive space where clients feel they can safely explore their experiences, build coping skills, and foster meaningful growth.

Stephanie Hernandez, MA, LPC
Professional Counselor II
Stephanie Hernandez is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a proud alumna of Texas A&M International University (TAMIU). She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Sociology, followed by a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology. Stephanie has extensive experience working with TAMIU students, a population she is deeply passionate about and considers her primary area of focus. Outside of her professional role, she enjoys spending quality time with her loved ones, including her two dogs, staying active through exercise, and taking mini vacations whenever possible.

Jessica M. Garza MA, LPC
Professional Counselor II
Jessica Garza-Arnold is a 2019 graduate from Texas A&M International University. She received her Master’s of Arts in Counseling Psychology. At which time, she began her professional career as a Licensed Professional Counselor. She has previous experience working in trauma and crisis counseling programs. Jessica has worked with clients suffering from co-occurring disorders, childhood trauma, PTSD, major depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. She has worked with clients ranging in age from children to adults. Jessica enjoys playing tennis and spending time with loved ones during her free time.

Cristina Oviedo, MA, LPC
Professional Counselor I
Cristina Oviedo is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a strong passion for supporting individuals on their mental health journeys. Her interest in the helping professions began early, leading her to TAMIU, where she earned a bachelor’s degree with a double major in psychology and sociology. Cristina continued her academic and professional development at TAMIU, earning a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology. She values a collaborative and compassionate approach to therapy, working closely with clients to create a safe and supportive space where they feel heard, understood, and empowered. Cristina believes in walking alongside her clients, offering guidance and encouragement as they identify and develop the tools they need to foster growth, resilience, and improve their overall well-being. In her free time, Cristina enjoys cooking, baking, binge-watching TV shows, and listening to her favorite albums on vinyl.

Anissa Aguilar MA, LPC Associate
Professional Counselor I
Anissa Aguilar is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Communication from Texas State University and a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Texas A&M International University. She has experience working with adolescents and adults, supporting clients through concerns including anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, PTSD, resiliency, and relationship difficulties. Anissa is committed to fostering a collaborative and compassionate therapeutic environment aimed at empowering clients to navigate challenges and cultivate personal growth. In her personal time, she enjoys spending time with her Olde English Bulldogge, reading, traveling, and training in jiujitsu.

Julio Urbina, MA, LPC
Professional Counselor I
Julio Urbina is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Texas. He received his M.A. in Counseling Psychology in 2021 from Texas A&M International University (TAMIU). Throughout his counseling experience, Julio has provided services in community mental health and private practice settings. As a TAMIU alumnus, he feels grateful and excited to be able to assist the current TAMIU student population. Moved by the resilience of those he has worked with, Julio shares a great passion in being able to be a part of people’s journeys in healing and self-discovery. In his free time, Julio enjoys spending time with his loved ones and watching his favorite sports.

Benjamin Silva Jr., MA, LPC Associate
Professional Counselor I
Benjamin Silva Jr. is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in the State of Texas. He has worked with clients dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and addiction. “Benji” is proud to help others overcome obstacles to move forward in their lives. He continues to advocate for self-care and encourages others to find strength in asking for assistance. Benji believes counseling can help people find new perspectives and meaning and hopes it sparks motivation to make necessary changes for long-term goals. He can spend hours discussing pop culture and finds comfort in watching his favorite movie or show.

Anita Hernandez
Administrative Associate IV
Anita Hernandez joined Texas A&M International University as an Administrative Associate IV, bringing over 13 years of banking experience in management and customer service. She is currently pursuing her college degree while balancing her career and family life. Outside of work, Anita enjoys reading, watching anime, and spending quality time with her children. Together, Anita and her family love having movie and singing nights filled with enjoyment and laughter.
