Social Media Photo Contest - What does Research Mean to you? 

As part of LEARN's Undergraduate Research Week, we invite you to submit a photo that represents research to you for our social media contest!

Purpose:

Provide an opportunity for TAMIU students to submit original photographs that visually represent what research means to them. Submissions may capture the process, environment, tools, feelings, or impact of research in any discipline. Images will be featured in TAMIU's social media accounts to allow the community to vote on their favorite image. The entry with the most votes will receive a grand prize!

Eligibility:

  • Open to all currently enrolled students
  • Individual submissions only, no group entries
Guidelines:
  • Original work: Image must have been produced by the student submitting the image, no stock images, AI-generated images or work created by others
    • If individuals appear in the photo, photographer is responsible for obtaining their permission
    • No images of minors without consent from a parent/legal guardian 
  • Content: Image should illustrate an aspect of research, broadly defined (e.g., fieldwork, labs, community engagement, creative inquiry, study materials, problem-solving activities, etc...)
  • Appropriateness:
    • Must be appropriate for public display
    • No sensitive, confidential, or protected information may appear on the image
    • No dangerous or unsafe activities can be depicted
  • High quality digital images are preferred
  • Files should be in JPEG or PNG (no PDF files or images embedded in documents)
Timeline:
  • Photos will be accepted from April 1-10
  • Voting will take place from April 13-17
  • Winner will be announced during UR Celebration Luncheon on Friday, April 24 at 12 p.m. (winner will be notified prior to coordinate attendance)
