LEARN joins the national celebration of Undergraduate Research Week from April 20-24, 2026!
As described by the Council on Undergraduate Research, this celebratory week was designated to “congratulate students on their research and thank those faculty and mentors who have helped guide the way for UR.”
These events were designed to introduce and support students in research activities. Food and special TAMIU swag will be available during the events.

Join Dr. Cynthia Gallardo to learn, create, and strengthen your scientific or research oriented resume! The goal of the workshop is to provide tools, structure, and strategies to highlight your scientific skills, research experiences, and academic preparation.
Tuesday, April 21; 3-4 p.m.; CWT 116
Set up your ORCID account with Librarian Melissa Runnels! During this workshop, you will also learn about Zotero to help you organize, annotate, and cite research materials.
Wednesday, April 22; 3-4 p.m.; AIC 127
Present your research work in this Lighting Talk Competition! You'll have 5-minutes to present a quick overview, key findings and takeaways of your research work.

We're celebrating student research assistants and their faculty mentors during a special luncheon event!
Hosted jointly by Graduate School, LEARN, and the College of Arts & Sciences Graduate Student Association, the Graduate Research Showcase highlights the breadth and depth of research conducted by TAMIU graduate students across all disciplines and offers opportunities for cross-disciplinary networking. The event will feature a research poster presentation session with a competition, and the top three presenters will be recognized with awards.
