Student Research Assistant Position

LEARN is proud to offer Student Research Assistant (SRA) positions as an experiential learning opportunity for undergraduate students! SRA's engage in authentic research experience by assisting faculty with their research projects/tasks. This provides students with a valuable learning hands-on experience that develops professional skills.

SRA's work up to 15 hours a week for 10-15 weeks. Number of positions available per semester is between 18-30; positions are fulfilled on a competitive basis.

Position Requirements

Perform academic research under direction of full-time faculty or instructor
Submit progress reports, complete surveys, and attend select Undergraduate Research Workshops
Present project and results during LEARN Expo (specific criteria will be shared during the semester)

Qualifications

Be enrolled full-time
Overall GPA of 2.0

Acquire a letter of recommendation from a TAMIU professor with information on the research project. Letter should include the following:
- Background information/description of project,
- List of tasks,
- Learning outcome for SRA
