TAMIU Annual Welcome Week Ends with Outdoor Concert, Fireworks

Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) annual Welcome Week festivities culminate Friday with a firework display during “Dusty’s Firework Extravaganza” Friday at 10 p.m. at the North Practice Field. View a campus map by visiting https://www.tamiu.edu/map.shtml.

Prior to the fireworks display, TAMIU’s Campus Activities Board, a student organization promoting pride and tradition on campus, will host CABchella. The event includes performances by DJ LemonBeatz, Justin Lorencez, Ricky Ram Band and the Jolly Ranchers.

Parking for the event is available at the Academic Innovation Center. The fireworks display is sponsored by the University’s Alumni Association.

Friday events leading up to the Firework Extravaganza are as follow:

Meet Your Career Advisors – Student Center 114, 1 – 2 p.m.; Greek Showcase – Kinesiology and Convocation Building, 4 – 6 p.m.; CABchella – Academic Innovation Center Parking Lot, 6 – 10 p.m., and Dusty’s Firework Extravaganza – Academic Innovation Center Parking Lot, 10 p.m.

Welcome Week festivities are organized through the University’s Office of Student Orientation, Leadership and Engagement (SOLE). University offices, departments and student-centered groups participating in this year’s festivities include the Office of Alumni Relations, Campus Activities Board, Campus Ally Network, Office of Career Services, Greek Association, Housing and Residence Life, Office of Institutional Advancement, Office of International Engagement, Office of Compliance, Rec Sports, Office of Student Conduct and Community Engagement and Student Counseling and Disability Services.
