Who is BankMobile Disbursements?  TAMIU has partnered with BankMobile to deliver your financial aid refund.  They are committed to delivering 100% or your refund at no cost, providing students with clear choices and offering great customer service.

What kinds of money might I receive from TAMIU?  The most common type of money BankMobile disburses to students are funds left over from financial aid awards, loan or grants after tuition has been paid.  Students receiving these funds have usually requested this additional support to help with books and living expenses.  Other types of money may include reimbursement from tuition overpayment or a dropped class.

Why am I getting a Refund Selection Kit?   You will use your Personal Code to make your refund selection at

How will I get a Personal Code?  You will receive your Personal Code in the mail at your primary address on file with TAMIU.  Just look for the bright green envelope and please make sure your address is up to date.

How is my money delivered?  Delivery of refund money is a multi-step process.  First, TAMIU draws funds from the respective loan and/or grant provider and applies it to your student account.  Once this information is verified, it is sent to BankMobile.  Once the specific refund information is received, it is processed and disbursed according to your selection.

What are my refund choices for receiving money?
1. Electronic Deposit to Another Account money is transferred to another account by BankMobile, typically it takes 1-2 business days for the receiving bank to credit the mone to your account.
2. Electronic Deposit to a BankMobile Vibe Account- If you open a BankMobile Vibe account (upon identity verification), money is deposited the same business day BankMobile receives funds from TAMIU.

Can I change my prefernce for receiving money from TAMIU?  Yes. Just log in to and Select "Refund Preferences" from the "Refunds" menu option.  Once on the page, simply make your new selection adn click "Update Preference" button to complete the process.  Be aware that your new selection will only affect future money your receive from TAMIU.

How will I know when my money has been sent?  BankMobile will send you an email to the address you entered during setup.  You can also view the status online at

What is the BankMobile Vibe account?  Designed exclusively with students in mind, BankMobile Vibe is a checking account that offers the power to bank anywhere, anytime.  Plus there's no monthly fee for students.  If you select the BankMobile Vibe account as your refund choice, you will receive a temporary virtual Debit MasterCard to use until your physical card arrives in the mail.  Usually it take about 7-10 business days.

What if I don't make a selection? Although you might not currently expect money from TAMIU, you may receive money back in the future. After all, you may drop a class, make an over payment or simply receive assistance you did not expect. Making a selection now ensures you'll always have this money without a delay.

What is a Title IV federal financial aid refund? A refund that consists of Federal funds such as Federal Pell Grant, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (FSEOG), Teacher Educational Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant and Federal Direct Loans (Subsidized, Unsubsidized and PLUS). If your refund is categorized as a Title IV refund and you have NOT setup your Refund Preference via the Personal Code provided in the Refund Selection Kit, you may be issued an "Instant Check" upon request at Card Services located in ZSC room 131. An Instant Check will be process within a 24 hour period after request in person and in writting has been made to Card Services.
