Important Dates

FALL 2023

  • Aug 21: Monday. Faculty and Staff Assembly.

  • Aug 25: Friday. ALL TUITION AND FEES ARE DUE. A $100 Late Fee will be assessed to students registering and paying after this date.

  • Aug 26: Saturday. Welcome Day.

  • Aug 28: Monday. 1st Class Day.

  • Sept 1: Friday. Final Late Registration Day; course changes continue through Sept 12 with the permission of the instructor.

  • Sept 4: Monday. Labor Day. Classes meet.

  • Sept 11: Monday. National Remembrance and Patriot Day. Classes meet.

  • Sept 12: Tuesday. 12th Class Day. Census day for the Fall session; last-day courses may be dropped without record. NO REGISTRATION BEYOND THIS POINT.

  • Sept 17: Sunday. Constitution Day.

  • Sept 22: Friday. Twentieth Class Day. All tuition and fees MUST be paid in full to avoid being dropped from the course(s) for non-payment.

  • Sept 29: Friday. Fall 2023 graduation application and payment deadline. A $100 Late Application Fee will be assessed to students applying after this date.

  • Oct 15: Sunday. Midterm Grades are due.

  • Oct 21: Saturday. Mid-Semester.

  • Oct 30: Monday. Registration opens for Wintermester and Spring 2024. Please visit http://www.tamiu.edu/registrar/registration.shtml for assigned registration dates.

  • Nov 13 - 19: Course Evaluations.

  • Nov 16: Thursday. Last day to drop a course or withdraw from the University.

  • Nov 22: Wednesday. Reading Day. No classes.

  • Nov 23–25: Thanksgiving Holidays. University closed.

  • Dec 2: Saturday. Last Class Day.

  • Dec 4: Monday. Reading Day. No classes

  • Dec 5 - Dec 11: Final Examination period.

  • Dec 12: Tuesday. Final grades for graduating candidates are due to the Registrar’s Office by noon.

  • Dec 12 – 13: Pre-Commencement Ceremonies. See http://www.tamiu.edu/commencement/ for more information.  

  • Dec 14: Thursday. Commencement; end of Fall 2023 semester.

  • Dec 15: Friday. Final Grades are due by noon.

  • Dec 19: Tuesday. Final grades are posted on Uconnect for students’ viewing.

  • Dec 25 – Jan 1: University closed.

  • Jan 12: Friday. Diploma and transcripts are available for Fall 2023 graduates. 

FALL 2023 SUB-TERM I (7 WEEKS)

  • Aug 25: Friday. ALL TUITION AND FEES DUE must be paid in full to avoid being dropped for nonpayment. A $100 Late Fee will be assessed to students registering and/or paying after this date.

  • Aug 28: Monday. First Class Day Sub-Term I.

  • Aug 30: Wednesday. Final Late Registration Day; course changes continue through Sept 1 with the permission of the instructor.

  • Sept 1: Friday. Census day for Sub-Term I; last day courses may be dropped without record. NO REGISTRATION BEYOND THIS POINT.
