Welcome
TAMIU's First Year Experience is a full-year curriculum for first-year students or any student who needs to complete core curriculum requirements.
You will enroll in UNIV 1201 in the fall and select a UNIV 1302 course in the spring. Our full-year program encourages you to connect with your peers, mentors, advisors, and professors and with other campus resources for support. Connecting with other cultures is also emphasized to help prepare you as global citizens.
You will also learn ways to develop the attributes of a growth mindset, such as seeking help, trying new strategies, and viewing failures as opportunities to learn from and grow. We aim to empower you by teaching you how to make informed decisions, take charge of your learning and advocate for others.
