Withdrawal
Students who would like to withdraw from a study abroad or study away program must notify IE by submitting the Program Withdrawal Form. The day the online form is received by IE will mark the official program withdrawal date.
Students withdrawing from a program are responsible for the $200 non-refundable application fee. The student may request to have the fee deferred to a future semester or different program.
Once the form has been submitted to IE, the student is responsible for the following:
- Pay back any study abroad scholarship funds dispersed to their student account
- Withdraw from the study abroad course(s)
- Submit payment for any program/cancellation/penalty fees you might owe
- Submit payment for any charges paid on the student’s behalf not included in the program cost
24-Hour Cancellation Policy
After starting a TAMIU study abroad application, if by initial deadline, the student has 24 hours to cancel their application with no penalty should they decide not to participate. If canceling within the 24-hour grace period stated in the email from IE, the student must submit the Program Withdrawal Form to prevent being assessed application fee. Starting an application after initial deadline will already account students for application fee.
