  • January 2021- New Year 

The Office of Global Initiatives welcomed the New Year participating in virtual meetings with different local and regional organizations.

 

  • February 2021 - Student Visas and Consular Information Session

The Office of Global Initiatives / Binational Center hosted a Student Visas and Consular Information session from the U.S. Consulate General in Nuevo Laredo for the International Language Institute (ILI) and TAMIU international students.

  • March 25, 2021 - Binational Dialogue - Laredos Region

Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) and the Office of Global Initiatives hosted the Mexican Consulate General in Laredo, Texas, the U.S. Consulate in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas for the Binational Dialogue of the Laredos Region.  Representatives of the public and private sector from both Nuevo Laredo and Laredo, Texas were present during the event.  For an overview of the presentations made during the Binational Dialogue please visit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXaAYOg-5ls

  • July 21, 2021 - Webinar Series- Binational Alliance of Logistics Clusters: San Luís Potosí

The Office of Global Initiatives / Binational Center participated as one of the hosts for a series of webinars presented by the Binational Alliance of Logistics Clusters. The first webinar was presented by the Cluster Logístico de San Luis Potosi.

  • August 24, 2021 - Meeting with Head of Mexican Customs

The Office of Global Initiatives / Binational Center and the Texas Center for Border Economic and Enterprise Development met with the Customs Administrator of Nuevo Laredo, Colonel Raymundo Bautista Contreras.

  • August 24, 2021 - Webinar Series- Binational Alliance of Logistics Clusters: Querétaro

The Office of Global Initiatives / Binational Center participated as one of the hosts for a series of webinars presented by the Binational Alliance of Logistics Clusters. The  Cluster para la Innovación Logística de Querétaro presented the webinar titled: Cross Border 2021- The Imbalance between Importations and Exportations.

  • September 22, 2021 - PITA Information Session 

The Office of Global Initiatives with the Texas Center for Border Economic and Enterprise Development hosted an information session about the PITA program that Mexican Customs will implement by 2022 in all its borders.

  • September 23, 2021 - Webinar Series- Binational Alliance of Logistics Clusters: TAMIU 

The Office of Global Initiatives / Binational Center participated as one of the hosts for a series of webinars presented by the Binational Alliance of Logistics Clusters. The Texas Center for Border Economic and Enterprise Development was in charge of the third webinar.  Dr. Daniel Covarrubias, Director of the Texas Center presented on the Impact of Exponential Technologies in Logistics.

  • September 2021- Dominican Republic Delegation visits TAMIU  /  Laredo

The Office of Global Initiatives received a group of Dominican Republic dignitaries that were tasked with digitalizing their government. TAMIU signed an MOU in 2019 with the Foreign Ministry of the Dominican Republic and created the pathway for collaboration. During their week-long visit, the group visited our campus for diverse presentations and attended site visits to our international border facilities. An exciting week of learning and collaboration concluded with a breakfast at TAMIU with our President Dr. Pablo Arenaz.

  • October 2021- MOA Signing with Texas Transportation Institute (TTI)
Texas A&M International University signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Texas Transportation Institute (TTI). This agreement will facilitate the cooperation between the two institutions.

  • November 4, 2021- Binational Alliance of Logistics Clusters Summit
TAMIU  hosted the  First Summit of the Binational Alliance of Logistics Clusters. Durimg the two day summit a collaboration agreement was signed between TAMIU and the Logistics Clusters of different Mexican States.

  • December, 2021- Binational Alliance of Logistics Clusters Summit
The Office of Global Initiatives / Binational Center helped facilitate, through the generosity of the City of Laredo, COVID 19 vaccines to the City of Hidalgo, Coahuila Mexico.
