Graduate Academic Advising and Registration
Graduate Academic Advising Process
- The COED Graduate Advising Office currently provides academic advising services by appointment only. While booking an appointment with their assigned graduate academic success coach, students may choose an in-person, phone, or virtual session.
- If an online session is selected, the student will be sent an email with the link to the virtual meeting the day of the scheduled appointment.
- Advising appointments are scheduled for 30 minutes only. We recommend preparing materials and questions before the appointment to ensure time is used efficiently.
- Registration recommendations are based on the student's degree plan and published class schedule.
- If unforeseen circumstances arise, we kindly ask students to cancel or reschedule their advising appointment accordingly by emailing their Academic Success Coach or coedgradadvising@tamiu.edu.
- Should a follow-up appointment be needed, students should follow the same steps for scheduling an appointment with their assigned graduate academic success coach.
Advising Appointments
- All students are assigned to a Graduate Academic Success Coach. A student's assigned academic success coach is visible on DegreeWorks or may be verified by emailing coedgradadvising@tamiu.edu.
- If you do not have an assigned Academic Success Coach, students should contact the College of Education to request to be assigned to an academic success coach at coedgradadvising@tamiu.edu or call 956.326.2420 [956.326.2435].
- You may refer to " FAQs Graduates" for immediate answers to your questions below. If answers to questions may not be found on the Graduate FAQs tab, please email our general inbox at coedgradadvising@tamiu.edu regarding your questions.
- Graduates: Screening Instrument: You may email coedacceptance@tamiu.edu with your student ID and the degree you are pursuing, so the link to this form may be sent to you. Graduate Admission letters are currently being sent out.
Please note: All appointments available are based on Central Time. Please do not change time zone settings while scheduling an advising appointment.
Please note: If no days appear to be available, please refresh the website. If this does not work, please email coedgradadvising@tamiu.edu
