Our Mission

The Department of Health Sciences at Texas A&M International University advances the health and well-being of diverse communities through excellence in education, scholarship, and service. We prepare future health professionals with the scientific knowledge, practical skills, and cultural awareness necessary to promote wellness, prevent disease, support human performance and communication, and contribute to the accurate diagnosis and understanding of health conditions.

Through interdisciplinary learning, community engagement, and evidence-based practice, we empower students to address evolving health challenges and improve quality of life across Laredo, South Texas, and the broader border region.
