Develop a storyboard to arrange interaction that will occur in F2F and online portion of the class, make the content of online portion continue into the F2F interaction not just add new things and leave ideas unconnected.
Develop a course that is learner-centered, plan how to provide content in an efficient way.
Create groups online and in face to face lecture to involve students.
Be specific in activities performed, what is expected from students what they can expect from you, what interaction will take place, and let students know of grading procedures.
Create activities online that students can research and then when there is F2F interaction they can discuss and agree what is the correct answer.
Develop FAQ on course content online so everyone is an active participant can lead to more participation in F2F lecture.
Have quizzes on F2F over content viewed online before class discussion or use “word of the day” on face to face interaction where on online video or presentation you randomly say or post word of the day then you can check if they are participating.
Adaptive release- give students online quiz that require a specific grade for new material to be viewed online, in order for you to know they are viewing and understanding content.
